Chinese man with ‘abdominal pain’ found to have four kidneys

Doctors discovered that man from southern China, who complained of pain around his abdomen, had four kidneys rather the normal two, according to a newspaper report.

The discovery was made after the 28-year-old man from Kaiyang county in Guizhou province went for a checkup, according to the Guizhou Metropolis Daily.

The man, Wang Kailian, had one of his four kidneys removed after it was found to be infected, the report said.

The operation was conducted successfully on Wednesday at a hospital in Guiyang.

Doctor said it was very rare for somebody to have four kidneys.
