Three young Russians are funding their travels around China by asking people to pay to have their picture taken with them, according to a newspaper report. The trio started their travels last month in the Xinjiang region and plan to travel south to Guangzhou and then back north to Beijing after hiking and hitchhiking around the country, the Chongqing Economic Times reported. The trio were spotted hitchhiking on an emergency vehicle lane in Chongqing on Sunday. Police warned them not to hitchhike on the road, but also offered them snacks and gave them 100 yuan (HK$115), the article said.
