The China Urine Therapy Association is still active on the internet despite being listed as an illegal organisation, the People’s Daily reports. The group, which advocates drinking one’s own urine to cure disease and aid good health, was registered in Hong Kong in 2008. The association was exposed by a mainland media outlet in 2014 as not having qualifications from the Chinese government, although it claimed it did. However, the association is still active on the internet and has about 4,000 members in its online chat group. The discussions are mainly about the experience of drinking urine and its effects. A reporter contact the Municipal Bureau of Civil Affairs in Wuhan, where the association had held a meeting but officials from the bureau said they had no jurisdiction over the association. In addition to the China Urine Therapy Association, other organisations listed as illegal but still active online include the China Health and Health Promotion Association and the China Elite Entrepreneur Association.
