Quick-thinking Chinese worker saves home-alone boy, 4, hanging from second-floor balcony

A quick-thinking Chinese worker helped to rescue a four-year-old boy hanging from a second-floor balcony for 30 minutes after being left home alone, mainland media reports.
The man, 58, managed to stretch up and grab the frightened child while standing on tiptoe on the balcony below for more than 20 minutes before firemen arrived in Pizhou, in Jiangsu province, last week, the Yangtze Evening News reported.
The boy, left on his own in the family in the flat on Sunday morning last week, had climbed over balcony railings, but then become trapped after trying to squeeze back through the bars.
His cries for help alerted people outside, including the cleaner, who was cutting the grass below.
The man told the newspaper that with the help of others he climbed on top of the first-floor balcony to reach the boy, but was unable to free the struggling child.
