Pictures showed extensive damage to the parked cars. Some had their bumpers broken and the tyre of one car was even dislodged in the impact.

The woman said she lost control of her car after her brakes stopped responding while she was approaching a slope as she was trying to leave the car park, according to the report.

The car did not stop even after she pulled on the emergency handbrake, she said.

The woman had four years of driving experience, the report said, adding that repairs for all the damage caused was likely to add up to over 100,000 yuan (HK$112,000).
