Two dead bodies, a ‘rain’ of cash and one big mystery in southern China

Residents of a Guangzhou residential compound woke to find two people dead and “hundreds of thousands of yuan” in cash blanketing the complex on Friday morning, Guangzhou Television reports.

A man’s body was discovered at the base of a residential block and a woman was found dead in an eighth-floor flat.

Police did not say if the two were related but residents said they heard an argument erupt in a flat on the floor at around dawn.

The argument continued in the stairwell, followed by the sound of something heavy falling on the ground, the report said.

A cleaner was quoted as saying the man leaped from the building at about 7.25am.

Residents returning from early morning walks found panicked security guards scooping up armfuls of cash, the report said.
