Chinese man urged to have more surgery in middle of circumcision
Treatment of man in Chengdu ended up costing him eight times more than he planned, according to newspaper report
A young man from western China was urged to have more surgery while he was in the middle of a circumcision and his treatment ended up costing him eight times more than he had originally agreed, according to a newspaper report.
The man, whose full name was not given, was undergoing the procedure at a hospital in Chengdu earlier this month when the doctor said he needed more surgery, the Chengdu Commercial Daily said.
“I was laying on the bed. I was not willing to have the additional surgery, but the doctor insisted ,” said the patient, who is 20.
The man said he did not have the medical knowledge to question if he needed more treatment and so agreed.
“The doctor said it was really serious and it could affect reproduction. It was in the middle of my surgery, I had to agree,” he was quoted as saying.
