A 10-year-old Chinese Latin dancer’s cheery confidence and charm have won him international fans after he performed on American reality series Little Big Shots on Sunday.

He Xiongfei, a Grade Four student from Luoyang in central China’s Henan province, can barely speak English, but he appeared well at ease as he conversed with American host Steve Harvey on stage through his interpreter.

He, nicknamed “Latin Dance Little Fatty” in Chinese, told Harvey before his performance that he never expected he would become so popular after learning to dance.

The boy first found fame on Chinese social media a year ago after a video of him performing a funny Latin dance was widely circulated online.

He was first enrolled in Latin dance classes in 2014 by his mother, who occasionally received flyers on the street advertising the school.
