If champagne and diamonds are the ultimate cause for celebration, then guests at a pink-themed party on Friday night had it all.

Champagne producer Dom Perignon and Argyle Pink Diamonds teamed up for the first time on Friday for a soiree at the Apex, on the top floor of Wan Chai's Central Plaza.

About 80 Argyle pink, red and blue diamonds mined in Australia were on display at the event. Stealing the spotlight, however, was a six-litre bottle of 1996 Mathusalem champagne, on show in town for the first time.

The bottle - hand-crafted by French artisans and featuring rose gold - carried a price tag of HK$500,000.

Echoing the theme of the party, guests including socialites Mira Yeh, Ivy Kwok Sau-ping and Reina Chau turned up in pink outfits.
