When Canto-pop singer Gloria Tang Chi-kei (better known as G.E.M.) shaved half her hair off earlier this year, it looked like she had finally outgrown her teeny bopper image.
In a photo campaign unveiled on Wednesday, however, the 21-year-old rock chick flaunts her femininity with pastel-coloured outfits and an impeccable perm.
"I think my pink lady look will attract a lot of attention. I, for one, am sold," Tang said of the photos, in which she is promoting cosmetics brand Maybelline New York's new lip balms.
But Tang also got a chance to show off her new image, with some photos showing her in grungy gear with hair tied up to reveal her half-shaved scalp.
Talking about the balms, Tang said she couldn't tolerate chapped lips. "Dry lips really turn me off," she said. "I often carry a handful of lip balms in my purse, with different flavours to cheer me up."
