About 100 guests showed up for the salon opening on Friday in Causeway Bay's Russell Street, including actor Him Law Chung-him, and models Irene Wang Yuen-yuen and Janet Ma Sze-wai. Taiwanese television actress Joe Chen Chiau-en flew in from Taipei to officiate at the opening ceremony alongside local actor Simon Yam Tat-wah.
While another beauty centre was in the spotlight last week because four customers were in critical condition after undergoing blood transfusions, guests were eager to have chemicals injected into their faces. A small queue formed quickly for the free Botox shots. The celebrities, however, kept their distance from the booth.
Chen said she had used slimming machines to help her shed a few kilograms because she was too busy to exercise. She didn't like pain so had never tried cosmetic surgery.
