A few lucky tai-tais invited to lunch by De Beers got a chance to marvel at the diamond producer's latest collection of sparkling jewellery.
Socialites including Maria Wu, Dorothy Cheng, Harriet Tung and Janice Chan-Choy tried on the multi-carat diamond jewellery from a collection called Imaginary Nature in Central's Amber restaurant.
Designed by Central Saint Martins alumna Hollie Bonneville Barden - who flew in from London for the preview - the jewels were inspired by natural motifs but given a modern twist.
"The collection brings together a rich variety of cuts and settings to achieve the drama and sophistication of high jewellery," she said. "It has a seamless opening system. The Imaginary Nature necklace, for example ... has a detachable brooch so that one piece becomes two."
Working for De Beers was a memorable experience for the aspiring young designer.
"It really allowed me to start dreaming about the wonder and romance of diamonds," she said.
