Man arrested with stash of air guns Police arrested a 34-year-old man and seized five air rifles, five air pistols and some parts used for air guns in a raid of his home in Tak King House on Tak Tin Estate, Lam Tin, yesterday. Officers acted after a primary school in On Tin Street complained a member of its staff was hit by plastic pellets at about 11am. No one was injured in the incident. Police said a ballistic examination would be carried out on the seized air guns to see whether the items had been illegally modified. Raid on alleged site of porn-CD production An industrial unit in Kwai Chung that was suspected of manufacturing pornographic video discs was raided and six men were arrested. Acting on intelligence, police entered the unit in So Tao Centre at noon and arrested one Hongkonger and five mainland visitors. Officers seized about 31,000 pornographic discs worth about HK$1 million. Last night, the suspects, aged between 22 and 63, were being held for questioning and no one had been charged. Man wanted over claim of rape in TST A 35-year-old man is being sought by police after a woman, 19, claimed she was raped in a love hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui. The man had left by the time officers were called to the Kimberley Road hotel at about 12.45am. Falling metal pipe narrowly misses driver A driver, 36, escaped injury when a three-metre-long metal pipe fell from a building under construction in Shau Kei Wan and pierced the roof of his Mercedes-Benz. The incident happened at about 10.45am, when the driver stopped his car at red traffic lights at the junction of Nam On Street and Shau Kei Wan Road. Police arrested a 37-year-old worker. Crackdown on Yuen Long mahjong den Police arrested 28 people and seized HK$21,000 in cash at a gambling den in Yuen Long. A tip-off led officers to a flat on Sau Fu Street at about 1am that was used as an illegal mahjong parlour. They seized six electronic mahjong tables. Reminder to activate bank-card function The Monetary Authority reminds bank clients to activate the overseas cash withdrawal capability of their local cards through the city's ATMs, online banking, phone banking or bank branches if they intend to take out cash from non-local ATMs, including mainland machines. The function will be pre-set as deactivated from March 1.
