Singer Chow Kai-seng arrested over home-alone son

Singer Chow Kai-seng, 52, has been arrested on suspicion of leaving his 13-year-old son home alone in his Happy Valley apartment.

He was arrested in his first-floor flat in Shing Wo Road just after midnight when he returned from the mainland.

Neighbours called police when Chow's son was found wandering around outside and they feared for his safety. Police found the boy alone in the flat.

When he got home, Chow was arrested on suspicion of ill treating his son.

He told police he had asked a domestic helper to care for the boy while he was on the mainland for a few days.

He was released on HK$1,000 bail and must report back to police next month.
