Two lucky students will get a taste of life in the fast lane under a one-year internship programme run by Formula One team Infiniti Red Bull Racing.

The intern search would cover 12 locations - four in Asia, four in Europe and four in the Americas - Red Bull said yesterday.

In Hong Kong, the team will partner with the University of Science and Technology to find candidates. Mainland China and Singapore were also on the list for Asia, with a fourth location yet to be decided, the team said.

The two interns will work full-time with the team in Britain in different departments - from engineering to computing - depending on their backgrounds.

They would be paid a salary of £18,000 (HK$222,500) to £25,000, and the team would also provide them with a house and a car, it said.

Applications for the internships begin next month, and a single Hong Kong candidate will go to Britain to compete against 11 others for the two places, said Andreas Sigl, the global director of Infiniti Red Bull Racing.

The two winners would be announced by July, he said.
