Manila hostage survivor Yik Siu-ling said she missed her five-year-old son the most after nearly a month away from him to undergo jaw reconstruction in Taiwan.

The little boy would be showered with gifts of chocolate and Superman toys, she said.

"I'm thrilled that I am finally going to see him again," Yik said on arrival at the airport last night.

She said a donation from Filipino businessmen to fund her treatment would cover at least the cost of teeth implants, the next big operation, set for April.

Yik, 37, flew to Taiwan on December 11 and is due to return to Chang Gung Memorial Hospital on February 21 for a follow-up consultation. Before that, she would spend most of her time at home. She was advised by her doctor to steer clear of crowded places in case she caught the flu.

She has no plans to seek compensation from the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sha Tin, where 33 operations in three years failed to resolve her jaw problems.
