Scholarism leader Joshua Wong Chi-fung angered a TVB news reporter recently after he questioned whether the station's exclusive interview with Lands Department assistant director Anita Lam Ka-fun last Wednesday was "a faked PR show" - rather than sheer lucky timing.

On the same day that Lam was revealed to have bought a rural plot of land in Kam Tin that sits next to an area earmarked as a potential new town, a TVB reporter sent to film the site ran into the very woman in question in a field.

TVB reporter Ho Man-man suggested on her Facebook page that the colleague who got the scoop deserved an apology.

Wong told All Around Town yesterday that he didn't mind saying sorry if Ho approached him personally. "Different people have different judgments on things, and I can't say they are 100 per cent accurate, otherwise I would be God … If you think that I am wrong and want me to apologise … I have no problem about that, but please don't just criticise me on Facebook," Wong said.

Former radio host Lee Wai-ling's similar suspicions about the timing were posted on Apple Daily's website, and the newspaper's chief editor Cheung Kim-hung later apologised for "inappropriate" content.
