Junk trip man drowns after falling off boat near Central ferry pier

A junk trip ended in tragedy yesterday when a man drowned after falling from the boat as his trip came to an end.

Search crews were called to the waters near Pier 10 in Central after the man was reported to have fallen from the vessel following a day out.

The man, aged 41, is believed to have been trying to get off the boat when he fell into the harbour.

Frogmen from the Fire Services Department pulled the unconscious man from the water.

He was declared dead in hospital.
