Vice-chairman post created in reshuffle of arts hub authority
New position aimed at easing burden on Chief Secretary Carrie Lam, who is also chairwoman

A vice-chairman post has been created for the arts hub authority to help its overburdened chairwoman in a reshuffle of the authority's board, it was announced yesterday.
Former executive councillor Ronald Arculli will fill the position to support the chairwoman of the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, Chief Secretary Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, the Home Affairs Bureau said.
He will also help oversee the project as it enters the construction phase.
Lam has been engulfed by the public outcry over political reform and was appointed by Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying to negotiate with student protest leaders in talks expected to start next week. She also leads steering committees on poverty and population policies.
Arculli currently chairs the authority's development committee. The reshuffle also sees six members joining the board and seven leaving.
The new members are veteran designer Kan Tai-keung, Hong Kong Arts Centre honorary president Cissy Pao Pui-lai, veteran theatre director Fredric Mao Chun-fai, engineer and lawmaker Lo Wai-kwok, surveyor Wan Man-yee and businessman Adrian Cheng Chi-kong, son of New World Development chairman Henry Cheng Kar-shun. Adrian Cheng launched New World's K11 art mall project in Tsim Sha Tsui.
The new appointments will take effect next Thursday and will last two years until October 2016.
