The wife of former chief secretary Rafael Hui Si-yan was tight-lipped yesterday about whether he would appeal against his convictions, marking a sharp departure from her chatty demeanour two weeks ago.
Teresa Lo Mei-mei clammed up on reporters at her first visit to Stanley Prison since her fallen husband was transferred there on December 27 to serve out his 7½-year sentence.
Lo - accompanied by Hui's friend of 20 years, Raymond Chin Yuet-ming - arrived at the front gate of the maximum-security prison in Southern District shortly before lunch but gave journalists short shrift.
"Don't be so nosy," she said, when asked what she had brought for Hui, 66.
On whether she was there to discuss a possible appeal with Hui, she replied: "Don't know. Don't know."
Last month, Lo had cheerfully taken questions from reporters outside Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre, where Hui was detained after the jury announced its verdict on December 19.
