Cavalia - a horse spectacular heading for Hong Kong
Flying riders, acrobats, dancers, musicians and 50 horses will put on a show in world's biggest touring big top

Galloping horses and flying riders will be racing along the harbourfront at Central when the internationally acclaimed equestrian spectacular Cavalia hits town.
The production involves over 50 horses and 43 riders, aerialists, acrobats, dancers and musicians and was dreamed up by Normand Latourelle, one of the co-founders of Cirque du Soleil.
It all takes place under a white tent that covers 2,440 square metres and rises up to 35 metres - the largest touring big top in the world - and will open on March 31 at the new Central Harbourfront Event Space.
"Horses require a lot of maintenance but they're the most beautiful performers on earth," Latourelle, 59, told the South China Morning Post yesterday. "In Cavalia, all horses are artists."
Inspired by the long history of the relationship between humans and horses, Latourelle came up with the idea of Cavalia in 2003.
"I wanted to create a feelgood show which portrays the beauty of dreams and celebrates everything that's beautiful. Cavalia is a recognition of what horses have given to men."
