A man who allegedly teamed up with a friend to kill and dismember the friend's parents denied buying a refrigerator used to store the female victim's head, even though his details were on an invoice, the Court of First Instance heard yesterday.

Tse Chun-kei, 38, previously told the jury he knew nothing of the plan to kill co-defendant Henry Chau's father Chau Wing-ki, 65, and mother Siu Yuet-yee, 63, on March 1, 2013 until Henry Chau showed him the chopped bodies a few days later.

But prosecutor Michael Arthur recalled earlier testimony by shop proprietor Guan Lianchao of Chao Kee Metals Shop at Tai Kok Tsui, who recognised Tse as the buyer of one of the fridges on January 10, 2013. Siu's head was later found in the refrigerator inside Tse's flat at Tai Kok Tsui, the court has heard.

Court was told on February 25 that the invoice showed that Tse bought the fridge for HK$550 and his phone number was also left as contact information. The proprietor also helped Tse to move the fridge to Tse's flat in Tai Kok Tsui.

Tse insisted, however: "I did not buy the fridge. How can I admit it.

He said the fridge was moved to his home by Henry Chau.

He claimed the store proprietor recognised him because he had earlier asked him to fix an air conditioner, water heater and iron gate.
