Update'Dog slaughter' behind Hong Kong restaurant sparks criticism of police
Man claims police showed up two hours after he reported canine being cut up

A man who posted images on social media of the suspected slaughter of a dog in an alley behind a Vietnamese restaurant is questioning the slow response of police after he reported the incident.
Heung, 28, told the South China Morning Post that he immediately called police after he saw a man processing fresh meat which he believed was a dead dog, in a back alley in Sham Shui Po at around 5pm on Friday.
However, the officers who arrived two hours later said they found nothing suspicious and left, putting the incident down as a misunderstanding.
Heung, who owns a dog himself and lives on the block next to the Vietnamese grocery store and restaurant, said he saw a man place a dog's head in a colander, with the canine's teeth exposed. Next to the head was a rib cage and pieces of meat, he said.
"I've raised a dog for nine years," said Heung, who works in the food and drink industry.
"I was really angry when I saw the man slaughtering the dog. I like dogs and I hate those who slaughter and eat them."
