Hong Kong murder suspect in reconstruction at scene of alleged killing

A Pakistani man accused of killing his Indonesian girlfriend was taken to the scene of the alleged murder today to reconstruct the crime.
The reconstruction began at about 3.30pm after the 30-year-old murder suspect was driven to Changsha Street near the junction of Shanghai Street, Mong Kok, where the woman’s body was found in a folded mattress on Monday.
Wearing a long-sleeve white shirt and plastic slippers, the hooded and chained man talked to officers with the aid of an interpreter on the street before being taken to the roof of a nearby six-storey building.
The reconstruction, which was videotaped, lasted for about 30 minutes.
After the tour of the crime scene, police drove the suspect back to the headquarters of Kowloon West regional crime unit in Kowloon City, where he is being held for questioning.
He was arrested in Tuen Mun on Wednesday while allegedly waiting for a boat to flee Hong Kong through an illegal route.
Also on Wednesday, officers arrested a 21-year-old man in Tuen Mun on suspicion of aiding the suspect to escape.
