A Hong Kong woman has been killed in a freak traffic accident in southern India, only weeks before she was due to get married.
Jagarthi Haresh Sadhwani, 25, died after the taxi in which she was a passenger collided with a bus that had stopped in the middle of a highway in Bangalore.
The trainee teacher was travelling with her mother, who survived the accident, along with the driver of the taxi who both suffered serious injuries.
Local reports said the accident followed a road rage incident involving the bus driver, who had stopped to confront the driver of an overtaking car. The reports said the two drivers left their vehicles to argue in the middle of the road without switching on their hazard lights.
Due to poor visibility and weather conditions, the driver of Sadhwani's taxi failed to see the parked bus and crashed into the vehicle from behind. Sadhwani, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was killed instantly in the crash.
Her mother suffered head injuries and fractures.
