Temperatures fell as low as 18.5 degrees for the first time this autumn, with the cool expected to continue into Monday morning, according to Observatory.

Hong Kong will be cloudy with a few patches of rain for the rest of today. Temperatures will hover at 19 degrees Celsius around the city's urban areas as a northeast monsoon sweeps South China coastal areas.

“It will be cooler since we are under the influence of a strong northeasterly monsoon, so the forecast will be cloudy with a few wind patches," said Yeung Wai-lung, a scientific officer at the Hong Kong Observatory.

"Temperatures will fall from about 22 degrees Celsius to a low of 19 degrees in urban areas and even a couple of degrees lower in the New Territories.”

After a particularly hot September, the start of autumn and low temperatures will be a repreive for Hongkongers.
