Lax security exposed at luxury projects on The Peak
Security behind luxury developments on The Peak is lax, although their fronts are highly guarded, reporters found. At one plush project along Black’s Link, reporters found a catchwater drain in the hill leading to the rear of luxury projects in the area that would give thieves the freedom to move around and hide among the surrounding high bushes. In January, three thieves cut through two-metre-high barbed wire fences behind Treasure Land, a project there, and sneaked into a house to steal.

10pc rise in online scams involving sales of fake sports shoes
There was a 10 per cent year-on-year surge in internet scams in the first half of the year, especially sales of fake sports shoes by leading brands such as New Balance and Nike on websites claiming to be the official online stores of such companies. The counterfeits reportedly sold for just 30 per cent of the price of genuine items. Some victims who paid with credit cards said their accounts were debited twice.
