- Hong Kong Immigration Department and mainland Chinese authorities mobilised to support pupil’s family

A Hong Kong boy is among the victims of an attack at a boarding school in the southwest of Britain, immigration authorities have confirmed.
The suspect, a 16-year-old pupil at the Blundell’s School in Devon, has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of grievous bodily harm with intent, media outlets in the United Kingdom said. He was expected to appear in court on Monday afternoon (British time).

Two boys were reported to be in hospital, one in critical condition and another in serious but stable condition. A male staff member at the school was discharged from hospital after treatment for serious injuries.
Police in Devon said some weapons were found at the scene of the incident.
Hong Kong’s Immigration Department confirmed on Monday it had received a request for help from the family of the youngster.
“The department has contacted the Office of the Foreign Ministry’s Commissioner in Hong Kong and the Chinese embassy in the United Kingdom to follow up on the incident, and will render practical help in accordance with the family’s wishes,” a department spokesman said.
