Hongkongers can expect hot weather over the next few days and next week, with temperatures expected to hit a maximum of 31 degrees Celsius (87.8 degrees Fahrenheit) between Tuesday and Thursday.
The Observatory said on Tuesday the mercury had risen to 27.8 degrees by 10.50am, with warm weather and cloudy conditions predicted to continue throughout the day.

The forecaster added winds were moderate to fresh and sometimes strong on high ground and that a southerly airstream would bring hot weather in the next couple of days.
“A trough of low pressure is expected to bring showers and thunderstorms to southern China over the weekend,” the weather service said. “The northeast monsoon will affect the coastal areas of Guangdong early to midweek next week.”

Temperatures from Tuesday to Thursday are expected to be between 26 and 31 degrees. A few showers are expected to arrive on Thursday, continuing until next Tuesday.
