Amber rainstorm warning cancelled, while morning and full-day schools suspended
Hong Kong Observatory cancels signal at 9.15am on Monday, while Education Bureau says only afternoon schools will proceed as usual

The Hong Kong Observatory has cancelled the amber rainstorm warning, while the Education Bureau has announced the suspension of classes at all morning and full-day schools on Monday.
The weather forecaster cancelled the signal at 9.15am after earlier downgrading the warning from red to amber at 7.47am. It urged residents to stay alert to dangers that may be brought about by river flooding.
The forecaster said that, under the influence of an active southwesterly airstream, heavy showers and squally thunderstorms were initially expected to persist over the vicinity of the Pearl River Delta on Monday.
Classes at afternoon schools would proceed as usual, the bureau said.
The rainy weather comes in the wake of Typhoon Noul, which triggered a No 9 signal for six hours on Sunday morning.
It approached over the weekend and came within 80km (50 miles) of Hong Kong – the third-closest approach to the city since 2000.
