Police said the pair fell three metres and the older man died later in hospital while his colleague suffered injuries to his hands and neck
A 59-year-old man died on Tuesday and his colleague, 36, was injured after they fell while working on scaffolding mounted on a block of flats in Hong Kong.
Emergency personnel were called in after police received a report of an accident at a building on Wong Nai Chung Road, Happy Valley at 2.44pm.
“Initial information showed the two workers fell three metres from scaffolding,” a police spokeswoman said.
She said the older man was unconscious and his colleague suffered injuries to his hands and neck.
The pair were taken to Ruttonjee Hospital in Wan Chai, where the 59-year-old man was certified dead at about 3.45pm.
Police said initial investigation found nothing suspicious in the incident, and the case was classified as an industrial accident.
