The South China Morning Post won five prizes at this year’s Asian Media Awards, held in Bali, Indonesia, on Wednesday.
At the 17th edition of the awards, the Post bagged three golds – the Sunday Morning Post and Post Magazine were the winners for the Best Newspaper Overall Design and Best Magazine Overall Design categories respectively, while an infographic titled “Getting to grips with North Korea” topped the Newspaper Infographics category.
Two silver awards were for a cover of This Week in Asia with the headline “How to lose friends and alienate people” and for an infographic titled “What’s in a face?”. The headline referred to a story that shed light on North Korea’s increasingly erratic behaviour.

Held as part of the Publish Asia 2018 conference, the awards attracted 435 entries from countries all over Asia and the Middle East, with 58 media companies from 19 countries taking part.
