A woman’s Saturday shopping trip ended up with her in hospital, after she was hit by a flying marquee.

The 52-year-old, surnamed Tong, was near the D2 Place shopping centre on Cheung Yee Street, in Cheung Sha Wan, when the freak accident happened.

The marquee, which measured 10ft by 13ft and is believed to have belonged to a restaurant in the mall, reportedly fell from the 11th floor of Phase 1 of the development and struck the woman in the leg.
