Normal train services on Hong Kong’s MTR railway have resumed after repairs on a crack found in the track on the Tsuen Wan Line.

The temporary repair work was completed at about 1.15pm and services were back to normal at about 2pm, according to an MTR Corporation spokeswoman.

“Metal plates were used to secure the section of the affected track,” she said.

“After the traffic hours tonight, the section of the rail will be replaced.”

She said the MTR was investigating the cause of the crack, which was spotted on a Tsuen Wan-bound section of track near Lai King station at 10.40am.

Trains had to operate at slower speeds between Lai King and Kwai Fong stations.
