The South China Morning Post has won gold and silver in the Asian Digital Media awards ceremony held Thursday in Hong Kong.

The real-time, tailored SCMP tablet app won gold in the Best in Tablet Publishing category after it was developed in 2015 to give readers a “visual driven approach,” SCMP Deputy Director of Digital Innovation and Technology, Ben Abbotts said.

“We’re pleased our app has been so well received,” he said.

“Audience engagement is significantly higher than any of our other SCMP digital platforms and we believe the app’s visual driven approach is the key factor driving this.”

The judges remarked that the tablet app "looks and feels great - and great to see you've achieved [a] good response from your readers".
