Taylor Swift launches new fashion range at Hong Kong Fashion Week - but no sign of 1989 reference amid China controversy
The 26-year-old pop star’s fashion range features crop tops, dungarees and sporty dresses adorned with her name and lyrics from her songs

Taylor Swift has launched her new clothing line in Hong Kong during the city’s annual fashion week.
But the 26-year-old pop star was nowhere to be seen when her models took to the runway.
Her fashion range features crop tops, dungarees and sporty dresses adorned with her name and lyrics from her songs. Some T-shirts even include the singer’s portrait.
But there was no sign of the 1989 logo - a reference to her birth date which some said could be misconstrued in China as a reference to Beijing’s Tiananmen Square crackdown of the same year.

Along with the date, one hoodie being sold online even features the singer’s initials, which could also be misinterpreted as representing Tiananmen Square.
