New owner, new app, new horizons

You can find our new and improved app by searching “South China Morning Post” or “SCMP” in the App Store

SCMP

The South China Morning Post is introducing a new smartphone app for iPhone, Android and Windows mobile platforms.

The free app allows users to quickly browse through the latest news from Hong Kong, China, Asia and World in the Post’s business, lifestyle, sport, property and magazine sections. Users can also view trending articles by filtering news based on “most viewed”, “most commented”, or “most shared” categories.

Readers can also search articles in the Post’s 20-year archive via the app.

Users do not need to log in to enjoy the content in the app but they need an account to be able to comment on articles. They can also personalise their menu and save favourite articles for later reading.

Opening new digital accounts with the Post is free.

The app is accessible in the App Store across different mobile platforms. Potential users can find the app by searching “South China Morning Post” or “SCMP” in the store.

Although the app needs an internet connection for the latest articles, users can save stories for offline reading. But in some cases images in offline articles may not display.

An older version of the Post’s app will stop operating and readers with the old version need to download this new app to get the latest news content.
