Hong Kong’s hot weather to continue into the week

Hong Kong will continue to bask in a golden glow this week as temperatures soar above 30 degrees Celsius.

Around Monday lunchtime, the airport on Lantau, the northern New Territories and Sai Kung enjoyed the warmest weather.

That heat led to a hot weather warning from the Observatory, as mercury readings topped 34 degrees in Sai Kung and Yuen Long.

At 1 pm the air temperature was 31 degrees and relative humidity 74 per cent. The mean UV index recorded at King’s Park was 12, graded as “extreme.”
