Facebook glitch leaves Hong Kong users unable to upload or access photos

Users complained on Friday that they could not post pictures or access their previously uploaded images

Facebook users in Hong Kong have complained about not being able to post photos on the social media site as well as not being able to access previously uploaded images.

Users posted messages on Facebook saying that when they try to upload a picture to their pages the upload fails and returns them to the page they were previously viewing.

Facebook users were also unable to directly access photos previously uploaded when clicking on the “photos” button. Users instead have to go to their albums page to access photos.

A check by the Post confirmed the issues users were complaining about.

When contacted, a Facebook spokesman told the Post: “Earlier today, a technical error in our system caused issues with photos in News Feed for our users in Hong Kong. We have now fixed the issue and apologise for the inconvenience.”

It is the latest technical problem faced by the social media giant after its WhatsApp instant messaging app had a global outage on Wednesday.
