Facebook users in most parts of Asia complained the social network was not functioning on Tuesday.
They mostly included people in Japan, Thailand, India, the Philippines and parts of Australia.
By 11am Facebook apologised and said the ‘technical issue’ had been fixed.
When they logged in, users had been greeted with a generic error message which read: “Sorry, something went wrong.”

Some Hong Kong users, who faced problems accessing their photos and uploading new images on Friday, also appeared to have been affected by the latest glitch.

Many used Twitter to express their frustration and asked whether other users worldwide were affected.

A Facebook spokesman said: “Earlier today, some Facebook users were unable to access Facebook briefly due to a technical issue. We have now fixed the issue and apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
