Hong Kong’s child prodigies: three other child stars to watch out for
They include a 10-year-old singer who is also making a name for herself in the Philippines, the youngest person to pass 11 international dance exams in one day and current America’s Got Talent sensation Celine Tam

The 10-year-old Hong Kong singer, who is of Filipino and Chinese heritage, is making a name for herself both here and in the Philippines, being fluent in Cantonese and Tagalog. The talented youngster, who can also dance and act, began singing aged just two years old and has already made appearances on TVB and RTHK.
She has said she always takes her mother with her to auditions and performances for moral support. She studies at SKH Holy Carpenter Primary School in To Kwa Wan.

This clever Hongkonger remains the youngest person in Hong Kong to pass 11 international dance exams in one day, when she was just four years old. Now aged nine, she is also an accomplished harp player and has won multiple awards for her performances. She also sings and plays the piano and violin. Her mother Selina Lam Sai-yan has spent tens of thousands of dollars on Pearl’s activities. Lam has said her daughter likes watching Disney cartoons and imagines herself being a princess, wearing ballroom dresses and dancing.
Celine Tam Tsz-kwan
The nine-year-old singer is currently making waves on television talent contest America’s Got Talent . She stunned the show’s celebrity judges, including music mogul Simon Cowell, with her rendition of Celine Dion’s My Heart Will Go On. The performance was strong enough to put her through to the next round of the show. Celine, named after her favourite Canadian singer, was trained by her father Steve, a 44-year-old music teacher who owns two music academies in Hong Kong. She is already a well established performer in Hong Kong; in 2015, she sang at Hong Kong’s National Day reception after being invited by the city’s Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying.
