Tung Wah Group of Hospitals ‘urged principal to make public explanation’ after teacher jumped to death at Hong Kong campus

Vinci Wong Yin-chin, chairman of Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, which operates TWGHs Leo Tung-hai Lee Primary School, also pledged on his Facebook page during Tuesday’s early hours to review operations at the group’s 46 other kindergartens and schools.
In an earlier Facebook post late on Monday, Wong revealed he had tried to convince the school’s head teacher, Law Yuen-yee, to give a detailed account of the situation at the school, after it was claimed that the deceased, Lam Lai-tong, 48, had been under extreme stress at work.

“I spoke with Law briefly on Sunday and she told me she needed time to consider speaking to the public regarding the matter, after I asked her to come out or even consider giving a written explanation,” Wong wrote on Monday.
“Since then I have not been able to reach her.”
