Two Hong Kong youngsters jump to their death
In separate tragedies, a girl of 13 leaps to her death in Tin Shui Wai hours after 16-year-old boy kills himself in Tung Chung
Two youngsters jumped to their deaths in separate incidents on Friday.
A 16-year-old boy surnamed Ng leapt from Kit Yat House on the Yat Tung Estate, his home in Tung Chung, at 12.25pm. He had reportedly fallen sick in the morning and did not go to school.
The second incident occurred in Tin Shui Wai. A security guard at Maywood Court, Kingswood Villas, alerted police at 5.46pm after a 13-year-old girl jumped from the roof.
“She was rush to Pok Oi Hospital in an unconscious state and was certified dead soon after,” a police spokeswoman said.
It is understood that the Form Two pupil was from a single-parent family and lived at the block with her mother and two sisters.
Officers did not find a suicide note in either case but said the cases were not suspicious. The force was looking into possible motives.
