Hong Kong Observatory predicts end to mild weather with weekend expected to be cloudy with chance of rain
- Temperatures could drop to below 20 degrees Celsius with thunderstorms expected overnight

The mild weather Hong Kong has enjoyed over the past few days is expected to come to an end this weekend, with forecasters predicting thunderstorms and temperatures below 20 degrees Celsius (68 degrees Fahrenheit).
On Friday, the Observatory said isolated showers would be replaced by storms overnight, with temperatures ranging from 22 to 28 degrees.
This weekend the prediction is for rain on Saturday, with temperatures dropping to as low as 18 degrees.
Visibility is expected to be low with more isolated thunderstorms on Saturday, forecasters said.
Temperatures could dip even lower on Sunday, which the Observatory said could be cloudy and cool with rain in patches.
The weather is expected to improve on Monday to “mainly cloudy with bright periods”.
Forecasters believe the weather will get warmer towards the end of next week, reaching 21 to 25 degrees on Friday, with occasional sunny spells.
