- Elderly Wuhan couple become city’s newest confirmed infections
- The city government has rejected more than 800 visitors from virus-stricken Hubei province, while 280 Hongkongers stranded there have asked for help

A 48-hour respite from new Wuhan coronavirus cases came to an end for Hong Kong on Wednesday, with two more confirmed infections and two others testing positive, while two Hongkongers came down with the potentially fatal illness in mainland China for the first time.
The number of confirmed infections in the city rose to 10 as the tally across the mainland surged above 6,060, surpassing the total reported by China during the Sars crisis of 2002-03.
The city government also said it had rejected 832 visitors from Hubei province after it imposed a ban on travellers from the virus-stricken province on Monday, while 280 Hongkongers stranded there had asked for help.
The two new confirmed cases in Hong Kong were an elderly couple from Wuhan who were turned away by the Four Seasons luxury hotel and reported to police.
The Department of Health said the couple, aged 72 and 73, were admitted to Queen Mary Hospital in Pok Fu Lam on the night of January 28 after arriving on January 22 aboard Cathay Dragon flight KA853.
