Coronavirus: Hong Kong publishes list of buildings housing quarantined people
- Health chiefs share information after document purporting to show the addresses spreads online
- But officials insist cases in question pose a low risk

The list’s publication, confirming an earlier Post report, came as one more Hong Kong passenger from the Diamond Princess cruise, a 61-year-old woman, tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the city to 94.
Dr Chuang Shuk-kwan, head of the communicable disease branch of the Centre for Health Protection, said the woman was sent to Queen Mary Hospital in Pok Fu Lam.
The city’s health director Constance Chan Hon-yee, meanwhile, said those under quarantine posed only a “low health risk”, having been confined upon arrival from mainland China, showing no symptoms.
A list of 5,875 buildings housing people under quarantine circulated widely on social media on Thursday evening, sparking panic and confusion among some residents.
The final published list has 5,979 buildings. A Post search of the list found a number of hotels in the business district and neighbouring areas, including the five-star Four Seasons Hotel, four-star Dorsett Wanchai, Grand City Hotel, Ramada Hong Kong Harbour View, Ovolo Central and Best Western Plus Hotel Hong Kong as well as the three-star Homy Hotel Central.
