The Hong Kong Observatory on Saturday said a fresh to strong northeast monsoon would persist over the coast of southern China in the next couple of days, with slightly cooler weather in the region, while a band of clouds would bring showers.

The next few days are expected to be slightly cooler with a few rain patches before daytime temperatures rise again mid-next week, according to the weather forecaster.

Cloudy weather and rain patches will continue into Sunday, when the temperature is expected to drop to 19 degrees, with a maximum of 21 degrees, according to the forecaster.

Regional temperatures in Cheung Chau, Lau Fau Shan and Ta Kwu Ling are expected to plunge to a low of 17 degrees on Sunday.

The temperature is predicted to fall between 20 and 23 degrees on Monday, before climbing gradually to reach as high as 27 degrees on Saturday next week.
