A downpour lashed Hong Kong on Saturday afternoon, prompting a two-hour red rainstorm warning, with flooding trapping a motorist in his car and water streaming through the roof of a border crossing facility.

The Hong Kong Observatory issued the red rainstorm warning at 2.05pm and lowered it to amber at 4.15pm.
