Hong Kong T1 typhoon signal to stay in force until at least 9am on Sunday
Tropical Storm Kajiki will be closest to city on Saturday night, skirting around 500km to the south of Hong Kong, forecaster says

The No 1 typhoon warning signal is expected to remain in force until at least 9am on Sunday, with Tropical Storm Kajiki heading to the south of Hong Kong.
The Hong Kong Observatory said on Saturday afternoon that occasionally strong winds had begun to affect offshore and high ground areas over the southern part of the city.
“According to the present forecast, Kajiki will be closest to Hong Kong [on Saturday night], skirting around 500km to the south of Hong Kong while intensifying further,” the forecaster said.
“Occasionally strong winds will affect the southern part of Hong Kong and the adjacent waters for the rest of [Saturday] and [Sunday] morning.”
The outer rainbands associated with Kajiki – the Japanese word for swordfish – were also affecting the waters south of Hong Kong and gradually edging closer to the coast of Guangdong.
