Heavy showers, squally thunderstorms forecast for Hong Kong until Tuesday
Around 30mm of rainfall was recorded in many parts of the New Territories, while more than 50mm fell in Sai Kung

Hongkongers can expect occasional showers and squally thunderstorms over the next few days before the rain gradually eases by midweek.
The week got off to a soggy start, with the forecaster issuing an amber rainstorm warning – the lowest in a three-tier system – at 3pm on Sunday. It was cancelled at 4pm.
The amber signal indicates that heavy rain has fallen or is expected to fall generally over Hong Kong, exceeding 30mm (1.2 inches) in an hour.
“Under the influence of a broad trough of low pressure, the local weather will be unsettled with showers and squally thunderstorms on Sunday night to early Tuesday. Showers will be heavy at times,” the Observatory said.
It said around 30mm of rainfall was recorded in many parts of the New Territories, while more than 50mm fell in Sai Kung.
